About Cranchi – The ultimate in cool Italian style
- The Cranchi trademark signals one of the oldest and best-respected Italian nautical companies, dating way back to 1870. Originally called Cantiere Nautico Cranchi, its home is on the lush banks of beautiful Lake Como, a haven of world-class boat building created by founder Giovanni Cranchi.

A jewel of engineering, a masterpiece of design – The Cranchi Fifty 8 Fly herself
So what does your Cranchi Fifty 8 Fly have in store for keen boat share syndicate members? This beauty is nearly new and her condition is ‘as new’, absolutely wonderful.
A couple of friends co-owned her from 2013 but they hardly ever sailed in her, which explains her particularly good condition and low hours. Now they’re relocating the craft to Mallorca, and they’re looking for two more quarter-shareholders to join them. If that sounds interesting she can be yours for a full three months every year, twelve whole weeks of ocean-bound heaven.
Built in 2011 but not commissioned until 2013, she has been used almost exclusively as a day-boat. But she’s capable of much more. She has brilliant Volvo IPS Pod drives, an innovative marine power system that works without shafts, struts or and rudders, which boost efficiency, increase the craft’s usable space, and deliver better handling and manoeuvrability. In fact she’s a dream to manoeuvre in and out of marinas and her sea performance is both fast and reliable.
The yacht’s bespoke specification includes an upgraded generator, air conditioning, flybridge bimini, wine cooler, low level LED lights, a barbecue and a whole lot more, and the hydraulic bathing platform is nice and easy to operate. The big split saloon sofa contains a clever rise and fall TV and there’s a handy upper dinette. Her cockpit is large, light and spacious, roomy enough for free-standing chairs around the table and a great place for relaxing outdoors.
As far as the accommodation goes, she’s the ultimate in luxury with room for six guests in three beautiful cabins. The master cabin is a full beam design to the aft, complete with sets to the port side, wardrobe, and en suites. The VIP cabin is forward, with a comfy double berth and your own access to the en-suite and day head. The port guest cabin also has twin berths.
You’ll love the galley, well equipped and as efficient as you’d expect, including a combination microwave and oven, plus a dishwasher. Wooden floors and sumptuous leather upholstery complete the picture. What a looker, and what a performer!
